Taking The High Road To Equity
Given COVID-19’s significant impact on the California restaurant industry, the
California High Road Kitchens program was designed to provide direct grants
to small, independent restaurants in need of financial assistance for staff and operational purposes.
In exchange for a monetary grant, recipients committed to participate in One Fair Wage’s High Road Racial Equity training program and provide free meals to community members. This program provides training and technical assistance for the adoption of racial equity business practices in the area of recruitment, hiring, promotion and culture in order to decrease occupational segregation and increase wage parity, along with other benefits.
